Deck height, HDPE mix, tube wall, verified load, unit weight and lock design — in that order. Every other claim on a spec sheet is downstream of these six.
| # | Specification | Consumer grade | Commercial grade | How to verify |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Deck height / wall | 3.0–3.5 cm deck; 2.5–3.0 mm wall, ±40% drift | 4.0–4.5 cm deck; 3.5–4.5 mm wall, ±0.3 mm | Cut a scrap deck, measure at 5 points |
| 2 | HDPE composition | Regrind-heavy, filler added | 40% virgin / 60% high-grade recycled + anti-UV masterbatch | Get the ratio in writing; run a brine float test |
| 3 | Steel tube | 22 mm dia × 0.7–0.8 mm | 25 mm dia × 1.0 mm | Vernier caliper at the leg bend |
| 4 | Static load | 80–100 kg, unsupported claim | 150 kg uniform min; 250 kg for rental fleets | Central 3-point load, 1 hour, no permanent set |
| 5 | Unit weight, 6 ft | 12–14 kg (under-built) or 26 kg+ (filled) | 16–19 kg | Weigh the sample against the claim |
| 6 | Lock mechanism | Friction lock with a pinch point | Gravity-slide ring lock, single-hand operation | Unfold 50 times, check for play and hand clearance |
Deck height is not wall thickness, and most buyers conflate them. A 4.5 cm deck built on a 2.8 mm wall is a marketing number; a 3.5 cm deck with a uniform 4.0 mm wall and dense internal ribbing outperforms it on both load and drop tests. What produces that uniformity is parison control during the blow cycle — the extruded tube of molten HDPE has to be programmed so the wall ends up equal at the rim, the centre and the fold line. Ask a supplier how they control parison and you will learn quickly whether they run their own blow-molding machines or buy decks in.
Rib density is the second tell. A commercial 6 ft deck carries 18–24 moulded rib rows on the underside, and every rib should be welded to the skin. Run a finger along the ribs on a sample: soft spots or visible separation mean an under-filled mould, which is the failure mode that produces sag within one season.
Tube wall matters as much on the frame. A 25 mm diameter tube at 1.0 mm wall resists the bending moment at the leg bracket; a 0.8 mm tube of the same diameter buckles at the same bracket after a few hundred setups. Measure with a caliper, not a photo.
✅ Bottom line: Verify deck wall uniformity, HDPE ratio, tube wall and rib weld before price, because those four cause most field failures.

Yellowing is photo-oxidation: ultraviolet light breaks the polymer chains in HDPE, and once that starts the deck chalks, cracks along the fold line and loses load capacity. Colour is the visible symptom, not the problem. Ask why do white plastic folding tables turn yellow in a rental fleet and the answer is almost always UV exposure plus a recycled-heavy deck, in that order.
The chain runs like this. UV energy attacks the polymer backbone, hydroperoxides form, and the material turns from white toward a dull amber. Industry measures the shift as Yellow Index under ASTM D1925 or ISO 17223. A new table reads around YI 3; a table that spent one summer outdoors in a rental fleet can read YI 12 or higher, which is the point where clients start rejecting it as "dirty stock". Recycled content accelerates the whole process, because regrind has already been through one heat history and carries degraded chains.
Three tests you can run without a lab, on a sample, before placing a container order:
Then put the numbers in the purchase order rather than trusting the brochure: YI ≤ 8 after 200 hours of QUV exposure, virgin content ratio stated as a percentage, anti-UV masterbatch dosage declared, and the stabiliser family named. A factory that cannot state a dosage is buying masterbatch by eye. BingXingTianXia runs its own blow-molding lines and can quote the ratio and dosage per model, which is also the fastest way to judge what to look for in a blow molded folding table supplier before you commit a container.
A note on the 40/60 virgin-recycled blend that circulates as an industry standard: it is a real compromise, not a marketing line. Pure virgin gives flexibility and high cost; pure regrind gives a heavy, brittle deck that fails drop tests. The blend keeps impact absorption while holding rigidity, and it clears most Western import requirements — but only if the anti-UV package is dosed correctly. Wholesale price differences of $4–6 per table usually trace straight back to this ratio.
✅ Bottom line: Yellowing is polymer degradation, not dirt, so specify Yellow Index limits and masterbatch dosage in the PO instead of judging by colour.

A: $18–42 per unit FOB China in 2026 for a 25 mm tube frame with a 4.0–4.5 cm deck; below $14 usually means a 0.7 mm tube and a regrind-heavy deck. Freight adds $2.50–4.00 per table on a 40HQ, so landed cost matters more than unit price when comparing quotes.
A: Yes. Zhejiang Sunflower Outdoor Products Co., Ltd. blow-moulds in-house, so deck length, rib layout, colour and logo can be tooled for OEM/ODM programmes from 300 units, and bulk runs of 2,000 decks stay on the same tool. Custom deck sizes need a new mould, typically 25–30 days, while colour and logo changes run on the existing tool.
A: Ask for EN 581 for outdoor furniture and ANSI/BIFMA X5.5 for commercial tables, plus a REACH statement on the polymer. Request the report for the exact model and deck size you are buying — a certificate issued for a 4 ft table does not cover a 6 ft deck, and a supplier who cannot produce a model-specific report is usually reselling.
BingXingTianXia ships a measurement sheet with every sample: deck wall at five points, rib count, tube wall, unit weight and brine float result. Send your target deck size, load rating and annual volume, and we will return a bulk quotation plus the ship-lot plan per 40HQ. Wholesale and OEM/ODM enquiries are quoted within two working days from the BingXingTianXia factory in Yongkang, operated by Zhejiang Sunflower Outdoor Products Co., Ltd. — and if you are still shortlisting, that sheet doubles as your checklist for what to look for in a blow molded folding table supplier.
